Everything Everywhere and Nokia Siemens Networks have announced a machine-to-machine partnership that will link vending machines to NSN's cloud-based VendMe service via Everything Everywhere SIM cards.
It allows vending machine owners to take advantage of remote stock monitoring, location-based promotional messages and mobile payments.

Mobile payment provider iZettle has completed a €25 million (£20.2 million) round of new funding led by Greylock Partners and Northzone, with MasterCard and SEB Private Equity investing as well. Previous investors Index Ventures and Creandum have also participated.
iZettle turns an iPhone or iPad into a credit card terminal using a mini chip-card reader and app.

A new survey from PopCap Games, the division of EA responsible for hits including Bejeweled and Plants vs Zombies, has announced the results of its third survey of mobile games consumption. It’s calculated there are now more than 125 million people playing mobile games in the UK and the USA.
44% of adults surveyed had played at least one mobile game in the past month, which was an increase of 29% from a year ago.
US-based mobile payment service Square, which enables payments to be taken via a plug-in card reader for mobile phones, says over two million individuals and businesses are now able to accept credit cards and debit cards using its app. A million people started using Square within a year of launch, with another million joining during the following six months.
The company currently processes over $6 billion in payments per year.

The National Audit Office has just published a report that looked at five large tax settlements agreed by HM Revenue & Customs in the UK. Although it expressed some concerns, the NAO concluded that all five settlements were reasonable and the overall outcome for the Exchequer was good.
Vodafone has issued a response, revealing that it was ‘case D’ in the report.
