Smart metering penetration in Asia-Pacific to reach 25% in 5 years

A quarter of all electricity meters in the Asia-Pacific region will be 'smart meters' by 2015, according to a new research report from analyst firm Berg Insight.

It says the number of smart electricity meters in Asia-Pacific will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 91% between 2009 and 2015 to reach 116.5 million at the end of the period.

For mobile phone design, square is the new cool

We've seen Microsoft's KIN One. We've seen the Motorola FLIPOUT. And now Nokia has joined the 'square phone' design trend.

The new Noka X5 – technically the X5-01 – is a music-focussed mobile phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It has a 5 megapixel camera, an expandable memory and an anticipated SIM-free price of 165 Euro.
