A new research report from Berg Insight predicts the total value of the global mobile marketing and advertising market will grow from €6.9 billion last year to €27.9 billion (£23.4 billion) in 2018, which is a compound annual growth rate of 26%.
This would give mobile advertising 19.3% of the total online advertising market in 2018.

Ofcom has published the results of a survey that looked at satisfaction with the customer service provided by landline, broadband, mobile and pay TV providers.
The most notable year-on-year improvements were seen in the mobile and pay TV markets: customer satisfaction rose from 67% in 2012 to 75% in 2013 for mobile operators (mainly driven by higher satisfaction from Vodafone customers).

BlackBerry has reported its financial results for the last quarter, which ended on 30th November 2013.
Revenue for the three-month period was approximately $1.2 billion (£734 million), down 24% quarter-on-quarter from $1.6 billion and down 56% year-on-year from $2.7 billion.

The Information Commissioner’s Office, the independent UK authority responsible for promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals, has warned consumers to protect their personal information when installing new mobile apps.
A UK-specific survey carried out by the ICO earlier this month found that 59% of adults in the UK had downloaded a mobile app, although 62% of these people were concerned about the way apps could use their personal information.
