Last month Everything Everywhere presented the first-ever quarterly results for the new joint venture. This week it's announced financial results for the third quarter of 2010.

Revenue remained pretty much unchanged at £1.77 billion. 185,000 new contract customers were added in the quarter, although prepay users fell by 177,000. Overall 43% of the group's mobile customers are now on 'pay monthly' contracts, up from 40% in Q3 2009. Three-quarters of all contract sales involved a smartphone, with almost half of new contract customers committing for a minimum 24-month term.

Everything Everywhere currently has 11,648,000 contract mobile customers – up 8.8% year-on-year – and 15,453,000 prepay customers (down 2.4%).

Tom Alexander, Chief Executive Officer of Everything Everywhere, said "Despite challenging trading conditions and Everything Everywhere going through a period of transition, we’ve continued to grow our contract customer base with net additions up 19.6% year on year to 185,000. In addition to the significant progress we’ve already made towards integration, we have continued to focus on our day-to-day business, growing our customer base and maintaining revenues and returning to topline revenue growth. The UK market remains highly competitive, but once we get through our period of transition, and we are able to leverage both our scale and joint networks, as well as realise the proposed synergies, we expect to see further progress on improving our financial position."
