Facebook launches mobile application for feature phones

Facebook has launched a new mobile application that’s designed to work on over 2,500 feature phone models from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG and other manufacturers. It’s been built with help from Snaptu and offers an easier-to-navigate home screen, contact synchronization and fast scrolling of photos and friend updates.

As with the ‘facebook zero’ service, the company has partnered with a number of mobile operators to enable free access without any data charges. However, no UK operators are currently offering this option.

The app can be downloaded from m.fb.snaptu.com/f and will be launched in other countries during the next few months.
