Sony Corporation says it’s completed the transaction to acquire the other half of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications; a 50% stake that was owned by Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson. It means Sony Ericsson is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony.
The mobile communications business will now be renamed ‘Sony Mobile Communications’ and will be integrated into Sony’s electronics business, with more convergence between Sony’s network-enabled consumer electronics products now expected.
