Microsoft smartphone rumours are back… yet again

Rumours about a Microsoft-branded smartphone are back. It’s been reported that Microsoft’s Project Pink involves two devices – codenamed Turtle and Pure, according to some sources – that could be similar to the Danger Sidekick/Hiptop, thanks to Microsoft’s purchase of Danger last year. Turtle and Pure may be co-produced by Sharp and are expected to run Windows Mobile 7, which isn’t expected until late 2010. Microsoft has said on at least two occasions this year that it plans to follow a software-only device strategy. [Sources: PCWorld.com; EngadgetMobile.com; Brighthand.com]
