Qipit mobile scanning service closing its online operation

Mobile scanning service Qipit, which launched three years ago as Click2Scan, is closing its free online copy operation. Previously it’s enabled customers to copy documents and whiteboards if they take a photo and send it to the web for storage, faxing, emailing as a PDF or publication.

Qipit now says on-device processing is enabling them to increase the speed of their service – and has led them to change their business model. In the future Qipit will be focussing on smartphone applications and technology for businesses. As a result, the free Qipit online service no longer accepts new registrations. There’ll be no further image processing from 9th November, with the entire service being taken offline on 6th December. [Qipit blog]
