Sony Mobile Communications - formerly Sony Ericsson but now wholly-owned by Sony - has announced two new smartphones on the eve of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Joining the Xperia S in the company’s Xperia NXT smartphone series are the Xperia P and Xperia U.
The dual-core Android-powered Xperia P introduces a technology called WhiteMagic, which adjusts the brightness of the 4-inch display automatically. Its smaller sibling, the Xperia U, has a 3.5-inch display.
Bert Nordberg, President and CEO of Sony Mobile Communications, said “Now, as part of the Sony group, we are in an even stronger position to bring connected entertainment experiences to consumers around the world, and to bring these experiences to market even faster. Only Sony can bring together electronics, networked services, connected devices and content, and the Xperia smartphone is a cornerstone to enjoy entertainment in this connected world.”
