Mark Bridge writes:

iPhone, iPhone. Two of ‘em, one dearer than the other but neither especially cheap. One with a 64-bit look-at-me-I’m-fast processor, the other much like an iPhone 5 with a coloured rear panel.

Anyway, that’s all the news this week. I’ll be back next Monday with more… oh, hang on. There’s been other stuff happening, hasn’t there?

Twitter said it’s planning a stock market flotation. The announcement was made in a tweet, naturally. On that basis, it would be nice to think Vodafone UK’s next CEO Jeroen Hoencamp heard about his promotion in a mobile phone call, Mercedes Benz revealed its move into wireless phone charging at a motor show and the EC published its phone and internet neutrality plans in an online statement.

And finally, a sad note as we learned that noise reduction pioneer Dr Ray Dolby OBE of Dolby Laboratories had died. A moment’s silence is surely appropriate.

On Monday mornings we summarise the past week’s mobile industry headlines in a newsletter that’s a lot like this article. To receive it, simply register your email address at TheFonecast.com by clicking the link at the top right-hand corner of our home page.
