ExclusiveVopium puts a friendly face on mobile VoIP

Mark Bridge writes:

Voice over IP – the ability to make phone calls over the internet - is a topic we covered in our first-ever podcast five years ago. At times it promised to change the way we used mobile phones... so what's been happening?

I've been talking to Tanveer Sharif, CEO and co-founder of international call service Vopium, to learn more.

ExclusiveUK riots hit the mobile industry

ExclusiveGoogle claims 'hostile campaign' against Android by Microsoft and Apple

Mark Bridge writes:

David Drummond, Google's Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, has just written a blog post that describes an 'anti-competitive strategy' against Android by companies including Apple, Microsoft and Oracle. Ofcom, the UK's communications regulator, has published last year's customer satisfaction ratings for mobile networks.

Its annual report is based on a number of measures for the 12-month period until January 2020, including customer complaints received, perceived value for money and overall customer satisfaction.

The average satisfaction with overall mobile service was 93%, with just eight percentage points separating the top-rated (Tesco Mobile; 97%) and bottom-rated (Virgin Mobile; 89%) companies.

Average satisfaction with reception or signal strength was 85%, with Tesco Mobile ranked top at 92%. Tesco uses O2 to host its virtual mobile network, yet O2 was only rated at 85% by its customers.
