It was offering ‘pay monthly’ SIM-only deals connected via the Vodafone network.

Tru (formerly Truphone), the UK-based 'global mobile network', has appointed Steven Robertson as the company's new Chief Executive Officer. He replaces Geraldine Wilson, who stepped down last week.
Mr Robertson was CEO of Openreach until April this year and had previously been Managing Director of BT Wholesale Operations.

The UK Foreign Office has launched a trial service with Vodafone to deliver emergency text messages to customers when they're abroad.
This service will be available to Vodafone UK subscribers and to customers on Vodafone-based virtual networks, including those using Asda Mobile, Lebara Mobile, Talkmobile, Talk Talk, BT Mobile, Gamma Telecom and Cognatel.

Shebang, the company behind the Go Mobile retail chain, is planning its own mobile virtual network.
The Go Mobile network will be promoted online and via Go Mobile stores. It's a prepaid service and, unlike many other MVNOs, will be available with a choice of handsets.

Fixed-line telecoms provider Alpha Telecom has announced the launch of a UK virtual mobile network called Alpha Mobile. It's a prepaid mobile service that's expected to be available from over 90,000 retail stores across the UK by the end the year.
Buying a £30 SIM from the MVNO will give customers what the company describes as 'unlimited calls' to landlines and/or mobiles in more than 75 countries.
