Mobile payment and advertising partnership Weve has announced Pouch, a mobile-based ‘loyalty card’ application. The first company to trial the scheme is the Eat food group.
Pouch can detect a customer’s location to within a few metres, thanks to its compatibility with Apple’s Bluetooth-powered iBeacon.
It’s linked to the launch of the ‘Weve Acceptance Network’, which Weve product director Sean O'Connell describes as “the UK’s first major attempt to bring together a set of common ideas and platforms for the loyalty industry”.
