Armenia's mobile web usage grows 2800% in 2008

Mobile web browser company Opera says the world's greatest uptake of the mobile internet during 2008 was in Armenia, with usage of its Opera Mini software increasing by more than 2800%. The Average Armenian user viewed 669 mobile web pages in January 2009. Nigeria had the second-highest growth with 1854%. When it comes to the overall number of users, Russia has the highest usage - seeing a 157% year-on-year rise. The UK comes eighth in the overall list with a 63.4% increase seeing an average of 245 web pages viewed by each person in a month. [Press release]
