Nokia's N8 smartphone will be the manufacturer's last Nseries device to use the Symbian operating system, according to a report by Reuters. It quotes Nokia spokesman Doug Dawson as saying "Going forward, N-series devices will be based on MeeGo."
The Linux-based MeeGo operating system was unveiled in February as a merger between Nokia's Maemo software platform and Intel's Moblin. Other Nokia devices will continue to use Symbian.
