Real-time home screen app for Android devices is launched

HipLogic has announced the launch of its real-time home screen app for Android, Nokia S60 and Symbian 3 handsets. It’s called *Spark and was first revealed as a beta version in September.

*Spark updates media and social streams in real-time, delivering this information to a customisable ‘home screen’ on the mobile phone. It can include information from the user’s personal Twitter and Facebook feeds along with content from Sky News, AP News, Weatherbug and Groupon. In fact, HipLogic's *Spark is currently the only way to get Groupon deals on mobile in the UK. News stories seen on Sky can be shared directly to Facebook, Twitter or SMS from within the *Spark interface.

Mark Anderson, the CEO of HipLogic, said “*Spark is becoming a vehicle for media and brands to gain discovery, immediacy and engagement with mobile consumers. *Spark blends an intuitive interface with powerful, multi-tasking functionality. We’re excited to be working with CBS, BSkyB, Associated Press and Groupon to deliver the best possible mobile experience to consumers.”

We spoke to Mark Anderson back in June - and we'll be broadcasting another interview with him next week. Make sure you receive every episode of our free podcasts as soon as they go online by subscribing to the RSS feed or downloading us via iTunes.
