Top tips in Mobile Device Management

David Akka writes:

The issue of choosing the right MDM solution has become more and more pressing, especially for companies implementing a Bring Your Own Device policy. The market place is becoming increasingly crowded with 50 or so vendors who now position themselves as MDMs. Some vendors offer application sharing, some multitenant management, other vendors have a heritage in security or a different strength all together. For organisations considering which option is best it is important to discern between the best known names or the most expensive solutions and select an MDM solution that is fit for purpose.

The Amazon Kindle is now the best-selling Amazon product ever

Amazon says its third-generation ‘3G’ Kindle ebook reader has become the company’s best-selling product of all time, knocking ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ off the top spot.

Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com founder and CEO, said “We're grateful to the millions of customers who have made the all-new Kindle the bestselling product in the history of Amazon - surpassing Harry Potter 7. We're seeing that many of the people who are buying Kindles also own an LCD tablet. Customers report using their LCD tablets for games, movies, and web browsing and their Kindles for reading sessions. They report preferring Kindle for reading because it weighs less, eliminates battery anxiety with its month-long battery life, and has the advanced paper-like Pearl e-ink display that reduces eye-strain, doesn't interfere with sleep patterns at bedtime, and works outside in direct sunlight, an important consideration especially for vacation reading. Kindle's $139 price point is a key factor - it's low enough that people don't have to choose.”

With the Kindle becoming Amazon’s top-selling product, it’s no surprise that Christmas Day saw more people turning on new Kindles for the first time, downloading more Kindle apps and buying more Kindle books than on any other day previously.

On Amazon.com, ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ was the most purchased Kindle book on Christmas Day and also the most gifted Kindle book on Christmas Day.
