During December 2012 in the United States the HTC Evo 4G contributed 20% of web traffic from HTC devices. What is remarkable about this figure is that the HTC Evo 4G was first released in June 2010 and is almost three years old.

The HTC One series of devices were released during 2012 and contributed less than 10% of HTC’s web traffic in the same month.

Are HTC devices released pre-2012 too good at browsing the web?

PUMA kicks off with touchscreen phone

Sport & lifestyle company PUMA AG says its new touchscreen mobile phone, produced in partnership with Sagem Wireless, will go on sale later this month. It's being launched in Germany, the UK, Italy, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Romania, Macedonia and Slovenia. In addition, a distribution agreement has been arranged in the UAE and operator agreements have also been reached in Uganda, Madagascar, Kenya, Mauritius, Cameroon, Botswana, Tunisia and Senegal.

Puma mobile phoneThe PUMA Phone has an integrated solar cell for additional power. It's equipped with a 2.8-inch screen, a 3.2-megapixel camera, multimedia player, FM radio, expandable memory, GPS and pedometer. There's a proprietary operating system; HSPA and W-CDMA connectivity are both supported. SIM-free price is €399 (£330+VAT).

Thierry Buffenoir, CEO of Sagem Wireless, said "This step into connected lifestyle devices and services is a strategic move for both PUMA and Sagem Wireless, which is reflected in the quality of our operator partners who are joining with us to deliver the PUMA Phone.  The connected services and m-commerce opportunities will enable mobile operators to create and access new channels for reaching niche communities with highly customised products and services that drive data usage."
