BlackBerry's BBM is now available for Windows Phone

BlackBerry has announced a deal with Microsoft to bring the BBM BlackBerry Messenger application to Windows Phone 8. The new Windows Phone BBM app will offer features including BBM Chats, BBM Feeds and group messaging.

Launched in 2005, BBM is now used by more than 85 million monthly active users worldwide.

Bryan Biniak, Vice President and General Manager for the Developer Experience at Microsoft, said “We are intent on bringing the most popular application experiences to Windows Phone, and with BBM, we are pleased to bring many of its top features to the Windows Phone platform. BBM on Windows Phone brings our customers the secure, easy-to-use messaging experience they demand, and we expect that new features will roll out in the months to come.”
