Mark Bridge writes:

I don’t mind paying for a spot of WiFi when I need it. Admittedly I’d prefer to find a coffee shop with a free hotspot but I’ll pay if I really need a connection. Not just here in the UK but abroad too.

Mark Bridge writes:

Facebook’s certainly had its share of privacy concerns – but last week the social network revealed plans to go public in a very different way. It formally announced its intention to launch on the stock market; what is known in the USA as an Initial Public Offering. Cloud-based POS specialist Vend partners with mobile payment provider iZettle

Cloud-based point-of-sale specialist Vend has announced a partnership with mobile payment provider iZettle.

It’s integrating the iZettle credit card reader with the Vend Register iPad App, making it easier for retailers to take payments without using a traditional cash register.

Vend’s software is already used in over 15,000 stores worldwide. It’s available on any computer or tablet device with a web browser and offers a combination of customer management, inventory management and business reporting. With iZettle’s card reader, it can now be used for taking secure debit card or credit card payments without the need to manually enter prices on a cash register or card terminal.

The new solution is available in the UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Mexico and Brazil.

John Coulston, Vice President of Sales at Vend, said “We want to make life as easy as possible for retailers. Our partnership with iZettle creates an incredibly flexible platform, which is simple to set-up, manage and customise.  It also improves the experience for shoppers, slashing queuing time and enabling them to make purchases from sales assistants as they move around the store.”
