ExclusiveMobile phone navigation service Nav4All to suspend service

Free mobile phone satellite navigation provider Nav4All has said its service is going offline within three days. The company has been offering a global navigation service for five years, with 27.5 million people having downloaded the software.

The company says it's suspending its service because "the data licence agreement with Navteq (a 100% Nokia subsidiary) was not extended, in a totally unexpected manner" and later adds that its "growth was reported in the licence reports to Navteq"...

ExclusiveMotorola is officially becoming a smartphone company

In yesterday's conference call for investors, Sanjay Jha - Motorola co-CEO and chief exec of its Mobile Devices division – confirmed the company had sold 2 million smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2009.

He then said "we are just at the beginning stage of our transition to a smartphone company" before later adding "going forward, we'll continue to tightly manage operating expenses as we 'dial down' in some areas, including feature phones, and redirect resources into smartphone innovation, supporting new product launches and building our brand".
