ExclusiveMobile Cloud application revenue to hit £5.9 billion by 2014

A few months ago we heard from ABI Research, which predicted the number of mobile subscribers worldwide using cloud computing - storage or applications provided over the internet - would grow from 42.8 million people in 2008 to over 998 million (nearly 19% of all mobile subscribers) in 2014.

Now Juniper Research has put some figures to those predictions. It says annual revenue from cloud-based mobile applications will reach nearly $9.5 billion (£5.9 billion) by 2014.

ExclusiveVodafone claims Europe's largest customer base of music buyers

Vodafone says nearly 450,000 of its customers across Europe have signed up for music subscription services since it agreed DRM-free MP3 music deals with all four major labels last year. It's calculated this gives it stewardship over the largest number of paying music subscribers in Europe.

In December alone, over 100,000 customers signed up to one of Vodafone's music services in Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the UK. Choices include monthly 10-track MP3 bundles and ‘all you can eat’ unlimited access services.
