Ofcom has published its second consultation into the mobile sector; a document called ‘Mostly Mobile’. It says competition has driven the success of the UK mobile market, although some consumers struggle to understand pricing and services, while others suffer from poor coverage (so-called ‘not spots’). Currently 51% of all UK telecoms revenue comes from the mobile sector - and by mid-2010, Ofcom says more than half of all telephony in the UK will be mobile.

Hot on the heels of its Passport promotion, Vodafone UK has now created a cut-price European roaming deal for its business customers. Paying £20 per person per month lets businesses cut the cost of mobile phone usage across 12 countries: receiving calls is free, making calls costs 5p a minute and texts are 5p per message. International calls from the UK are also cut to 5p a minute.
