Sony Ericsson has just launched its "first outdoor Bluetooth speaker": the MS500. It's splash proof and powered by AA batteries. But hang on a moment. The company's publicity photos for the MBS-100 - announced in October 2007 and supplied with a carrying bag - showed it outdoors with a man balanced on his head. Oops.

Despite Nokia's passion for calling its Nseries smartphones "multimedia computers", most consumers see a big difference between their computers and their mobile phones. Those are the findings from a survey published by Skype, which also says the majority of mobile users don't currently download applications to their mobile devices.
