Rumours of a PlayStationPortable-branded mobile phone have been kicking around for a couple of years. But now it sounds as though Sony (or Sony Ericsson) may soon have some serious competition from another big gaming brand. Microsoft’s corporate vice president Shane Kim has told gaming news website Kikizo that the Xbox brand needs to decide how it’ll enter the mobile market.

The London Calling mobile phone is a tri-band GSM handset with has a 65,000-colour screen, a camera and WAP over GPRS. The on-screen wallpaper is preloaded with images of British landmarks, while the polyphonic ringtones include Rule Brittania and God Save the Queen.
