A new report from Juniper Research shows that more than 80% of business and consumer owned smartphones will not be protected by a mobile security product at the end of 2013.
It notes that consumer awareness of mobile security products is increasing but says there’s relatively low consumer awareness about online attacks on mobile devices.

Communication industry regulator Ofcom has published a consultation about revising the licence fees paid by UK mobile networks for the 900MHz and 1800MHz spectrum bands initially used for 2G and 3G services.
In December 2010, the Government told Ofcom to revise these fees in line with current market values.

Vodafone UK says it has connected 100,000 customers to its 4G tariffs since they were launched seven weeks ago.
The company currently covers much of the Greater London area with its 4G network, along with Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield. Liverpool, Glasgow and Manchester are due to be added in the next few weeks.

Samsung Electronics has announced the Galaxy Round smartphone, described as “the world’s first curved display smartphone”. The handset has a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a gentle concave curve.
It’s being launched with SK Telecom in South Korea.
