Doro announces a 'liberating' easy-to-use smartphone

Doro, the Swedish manufacturer best known for its easy-to-use mobile phones, has announced a new smartphone.

The Doro Liberto 810, which is only the company’s second smartphone, runs Android 4.1 with the Doro Experience user interface.

Mobile security specialist Lookout has announced a partnership that’ll see Samsung Electronics using Lookout as part of the Android-based Samsung Knox security and device management solution.

In addition, Lookout says it’ll be launching its own business-specific mobile security product later this year.

Qualcomm plans to release its own smartwatch later this year

Technology giant Qualcomm says its Connected Experiences subsidiary will release a Qualcomm-branded smartwatch by the end of this year.

The Qualcomm Toq will use the company’s low-power Mirasol display, ensuring the colour touchscreen display is always on. It’ll also feature wireless charging and a stereo Bluetooth audio connection.

The latest iteration of Samsung’s Galaxy Note phablet has been revealed two years after the original Galaxy Note was introduced.

Samsung’s Note 3 will go on sale on 25th September, the same day as the Galaxy Gear smartwatch.

Sony creates WiFi-enabled camera lenses for smartphones

Sony has announced two smartphone accessories that look like camera lenses.

Each is actually a separate camera that’ll link to compatible Android and iOS smartphones via WiFi and Sony’s PlayMemories Mobile application. There are even smartphone mounting kits for some handsets, although the ‘lens’ can also be used at a distance from the phone.
