Tablet apps are expected to generate $8.8 billion (£5.9 billion) in revenue this year, with $16.4 billion (£11 billion) expected to come from smartphone applications.
That gives tablet apps a 35% share of the revenue, according to the latest forecast from ABI Research.

Sensum co-creator Shane McCourt was invited to present the Sensum audience insights platform to a 1,000-strong crowd at the “Back to the Future: Mobile Innovation 2023” conference session at Mobile World Congress 2013.

Didier Lamouche, president and chief executive officer of mobile semiconductor specialist ST-Ericsson has announced his resignation “to pursue other opportunities”.
He’ll remain in his role until the end of the month.
