There are bad weeks... and there are BAD weeks. Blackberry had one of the latter. It all started so well. The company announced a new flagship phablet – the Z30 – and said it would be launching its BBM instant messaging service for iOS and Android handsets at the weekend.

Virgin Media Business has launched a mobile phone service for its business customers.
The new virtual mobile network, called Business Mobile, runs on the EE 4G network.

Virgin Media Business has announced that Peter Kelly, former Enterprise director at Vodafone, is to become its managing director from next month. He’ll report directly to Tom Mockridge, Virgin Media’s CEO.
Mr Kelly has spent the last five years at Vodafone and previously worked at Nortel.

Telefonica UK has signed a 10-year deal that’ll see Virgin Media Business providing connectivity from O2 base stations.
The connections will use Virgin’s fibre network, providing O2 with extra capacity to deliver 4G mobile data from this summer.

International cable TV and communications company Liberty Global has completed its acquisition of Virgin Media.
The deal, which was announced in February, is worth approximately $24 billion.
