Ofcom’s board has chosen Steve Unger as its interim Chief Executive from the end of this year.
He’ll be in the role until the UK communications regulator makes a permanent appointment in the New Year.

UK mobile operator EE says it switched on its 4G service in the Channel Tunnel two months ago and has now provided 4G service to more than 25,000 EE customers.
Since September, 282GB of 4G data has been carried on EE’s network from the tunnel. Average download speeds are 13.5Mbps, with peak speeds of 57Mbps delivered.

A recent court filing appears to show Google and the Rockstar patent licensing business settling their lawsuit.
Rockstar is a consortium of companies that includes Apple, BlackBerry, Ericsson, Microsoft, and Sony. It acquired thousands of former Nortel Network Corp patents in 2011, paying $4.5 billion.

Photo messaging service Snapchat, which enables users to share pictures that’ll automatically delete after ten seconds, has launched a mobile money service in the USA.
Snapcash has been created in partnership with payment provider Square.
