Independent mobile advertising network InMobi has published the UK edition of its Quarterly Mobile Insights Report for January to March 2012.
The number of mobile ads displayed using InMobi’s UK network increased to 9.5 billion over the 90 day period, with smartphone usage increasing by 12% from the previous quarter.

Apple has announced financial results for the second quarter of its fiscal 2012 year.
Quarterly revenue was up to $39.2 billion and quarterly net profit was up 94% year-on-year to $11.6 billion.

HTC has reported its first-quarter results for 2012, having published unaudited figures earlier this month.
Revenue was NT$67.79 billion (around £1.42 billion; down 34.9% year-on-year), with net income at NT$4.47 billion (down 69.9%).

UK-based microprocessor business ARM Holdings has published its quarterly results for the period ended 31st March 2012. Revenue was up 14% year-on-year to £132.5 million, while pre-tax profit was up 22% to £61.9 million.
Around 1.1 billion of its chips were shipped into mobile phones and mobile computers during Q1 2012, similar to a year ago, with 57% of all ARM chips going into mobile devices.

Google has announced a free cloud-based storage service called Google Drive.
It’ll store up to 5MB of files free, allowing them to be accessed from different devices and also shared with friends or colleagues.
