Ofcom data reveals O2 UK to be the mobile network with the least complaints again

Highest proportion of complaints from T-Mobile

Ofcom’s quarterly report of complaints against major UK telecoms and pay TV providers shows an overall drop between April and June 2013, mainly due to a fall in the number of landline and broadband complaints.

It’s the regulator’s tenth quarterly report.

Amazon announces new Kindle Fire OS and new tablets

This week Amazon has introduced the third generation of its Kindle Fire tablets.

The Kindle Fire HDX family uses new hardware, the latest version of the Android-based Fire OS and a new ‘Mayday’ button for customer service.

UK smartphone company Kazam announces management team ahead of September launch

London-based smartphone company Kazam, which was set up by former HTC executives Michael Coombes and James Atkins earlier this year, has announced more details about its management team.

There are now 30 people working at Kazam.

Mobile retailers waste over £21.6 million a year on unnecessarily sending mobile phones for repair

David Heled of Cellebrite writes:

Smartphones are now by far and away the communication, payment and information device of choice for consumers and enterprises. Sales are set to overtake those of traditional feature phones this year for the first time. However, the increasing complexity of the devices’ technology means that there’s a lot more that can go wrong, and make it harder for mobile retailers to identify potential problems – and it’s costing them millions per every year.
