On Tuesday this week the International Agency for Research on Cancer - part of the World Health Organisation - classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans.

Three UK gets new CEO as Kevin Russell returns to Australia

David Dyson, currently Chief Operating Officer at Three UK, will take over as the company's CEO from 1st July 2011.

Current CEO Kevin Russell, who's been in the role for four and a half years, plans to return to Australia.

Ofcom warns of interference between 4G and digital TV frequencies

UK regulator Ofcom has been talking about the proximity of the 800MHz 4G spectrum to the frequencies used for digital terrestrial television.

It's concerned to ensure mobile services can be used effectively without restricting digital TV broadcasting.

Acer writes off $150 million and loses 300 staff

Acer says it's giving its channels a $150 millionsales allowance - resulting in an operating loss of the same amount - having found "high channel inventory and disputed accounts receivable" in its Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.

The company is also cutting around 300 employees from its EMEA operation, which will cost around $30 million in compensation but will save around $30 million per year.
