ChaCha – a US-based service that answers questions sent via SMS text, online, Twitter, voice, Facebook and mobile apps – has just picked up $3 million of new funding that includes $900,000 from Qualcomm Ventures.
In total, the company has now raised approximately $75 million.

The GSMA has announced the nominees for the 16th Annual Global Mobile Awards. The winners will be announced at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 15th February 2011.

Steve Townend, Chief Executive and co-founder of mobile banking service MoBank, says he plans to step aside from the CEO role this year.
He'll become Executive Deputy Chairman, with co-founder and current COO Dominic Keen taking over the CEO role.

Mobile voice encryption provider GSMK says phone hackers are targeting mergers and acquisitions to steal confidential information and play the stock market using insider information.
Bjoern Rupp, CEO at GSMK, said “In the last year alone, there has been a significant rise in phone fraud across Europe and this trend is likely to continue into 2011.”
