Mobile search provider Mobile Commerce has published a list of the UK’s top mobile search terms of 2010. It reveals what users are searching for on mobile devices and how mobile search differs from desktop search.

Mobile location-based social network Foursquare has added the ability for users to annotate their posts with photos and comments. The option is already available on the new Foursquare iPhone application and will be added to the Foursquare Android app later this week.

Over in the United States, AT&T has agreed to purchase spectrum licenses in the ‘lower 700 MHz’ frequency band from Qualcomm for $1.925 billion. The spectrum, currently used by Qualcomm for its FLO TV service in the USA, will form part of AT&T’s 4G mobile broadband service.

Mobile technology company 2ergo predicts that mobile commerce will move into the mainstream in 2011. It expects mobile payments to quadruple by 2014, reaching £400 billion globally.

Watch out for the international sales of low-price mobile phones next year. That’s the message from Pyramid Research.
It says the number of handsets sold around the world will grow by around 8% in 2011, with more than 1.4 billion devices sold in total.
