Over one in ten mobile devices will have 3D screens within five years, says new research

ABI Research says over 11% of mobile devices sold will offer 3D technology by 2015. That’s a combination of smartphones, notebooks, mobile internet devices and portable game players.

Mobile marketers need privacy guidelines, says Mobile Marketing Association

The Mobile Marketing Association has launched an initiative to develop a “comprehensive set of mobile privacy guidelines” that’ll be available alongside the trade organisation’s Global Code of Conduct. It says there’s a growing need for marketers and consumers to have a transparent, accepted understanding as to how information is collected and used for mobile marketing.

Indian government says 3G video calls should be shut down until they can be monitored

It’s reported that the Indian Department of Telecommunications has told Reliance Communications and Tata Teleservices to close all 3G services that can’t be monitored.

Symbian Foundation source code will remain online until 31st March 2011

The Symbian Foundation’s transformation from a non-profit organisation responsible for the development of the Symbian platform to a licensing body is underway, with the foundation’s public websites closing this week and open access to the Symbian source code removed.
