Apple says it’s sold over four million units of the new iPhone 4S within three days of its launch on 14th October.

In addition, more than 25 million customers are now using iOS 5, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, and more than 20 million people have signed up for the free iCloud storage service.

ExclusiveO2 wins M2M deal to put SIM cards in electric vehicle charging points

Telefonica UK and Chargemaster plc have announced a partnership that’ll see O2 SIM cards used in the machine-to-machine technology connecting Chargemaster’s UK-wide network of electric vehicle charging points.

Chargemaster recently announced a national charging network called POLAR. It’s the UK’s largest private sector-funded network, with around 4,000 electric vehicle charging bays due to be installed in towns and cities across the UK by the end of 2012.

Research In Motion says it’ll be giving away a selection of applications worth more than $100 (£63) in total to customers ‘as an expression of appreciation for their patience’ during last week’s disruptions to BlackBerry service.

The apps will be made available to customers from Wednesday 19th October via BlackBerry App World.

ExclusiveSamsung now takes legal action against Apple in Japan and Australia

Samsung Electronics has filed preliminary injunction motions in the Tokyo District Court of Japan and the New South Wales Registry in Australia, asking for an immediate injunction preventing the sale of Apple’ s iPhone 4S.

The move follows similar motions earlier this month in France and Italy. In addition, Samsung has asked the Australian court to overturn its recent preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
