The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld complaints about two separate advertisements produced by The Carphone Warehouse in May.
Both ads were headlined ‘Phone 4. UK’s lowest price’, with one also containing small print that said ‘Service Plan in-store £13.99 per month’.

Samsung is the latest company to sign a patent licensing deal with Microsoft. In this case it’s a broad agreement to cross-license the patent portfolios of both companies, with Microsoft receiving royalties for Samsung’s mobile phones and tablets running the Android mobile platform.
The companies have also agreed to cooperate in the development and marketing of Windows Phone.

Discovery Communications has signed a global partnership with handset manufacturer Huawei Device, creating the Huawei-Discovery Expedition phone.
The new rugged device is water-resistant, dustproof and shock-proof. It’s also equipped with Facebook and Twitter social networking capabilities.

Visa Europe has announced two new mobile-related money management and payment services today: Visa Mobile Person-to-Person payments and Visa Alerts.
Both will be available to the organisation’s 4,000 member banks.

Independent mobile ad network InMobi has published research that looks at the anticipated Apple iPhone 5, which is expected to be announced next week.
It’s found that 41% of mobile users in the USA, Mexico and Canada plan to buy an iPhone 5 - and over half of them expect to make the purchase within six months of launch.
