Fujitsu prepares European smartphone for seniors

Fujitsu Limited is planning its first major smartphone move outside Japan with the STYLISTIC S01, a handset designed for senior users that’ll initially be available via Orange in France from June 2013.

It's an Android-powered device with a 1.4GHz chip, a 4-inch screen and an 8.1-megapixel camera.

NVIDIA announces its first 4G LTE processor

Technology company NVIDIA has announced its first integrated 4G LTE mobile processor, moving into a market segment that’s been dominated by Qualcomm.

It says its new Tegra 4i, which has been jointly designed in partnership with ARM, delivers the highest performance of any single-chip smartphone processor yet is also much smaller

New HTC One smartphone makes its debut

HTC has announced a new flagship phone using its HTC One brand rather than the rumoured M7 codename. The new HTC One runs Android on a Qualcomm 1.7GHz quad-core processor and has an aluminium body containing a 4.7-inch HD screen.

There’s a strong audiovisual focus to the new HTC One, with the company introducing three new features: HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound.

EE annual results show £249 million pre-tax loss

EE (formerly Everything Everywhere) has announced its financial results for 2012, describing it as a year of ‘solid commercial momentum’.

It’s made a pre-tax loss of £249 million, more than double its 2011 loss of £113 million. Earnings were £1.41 billion, slightly down from the 2011 total, while revenue was down 1.9% to £6.66 billion.
