Telefonica agrees to sell O2 Ireland to Hutchison Whampoa’s Three brand

Network operator Telefónica has agreed to sell its Telefónica Ireland business, which trades as O2, to the Three subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa.

The deal is worth €850 million (£722 million), with €780 million paid when the deal is completed and a further €70 million paid if financial targets are met.

EE releases network APIs to mobile developers in London's Tech City

East London to receive double-speed 4G service from today

UK 4G mobile network EE has announced a partnership with East London tech hub Tech City.

It says this partnership will enable Tech City to become the best-connected tech hub in the world.

Another week, another couple of product announcements from Samsung. There appears to be no stopping them, despite a recent drop in the company’s share price.

This time it’s a couple of tablets – one of which runs both Android and Windows 8 – and a 20 megapixel camera that’s got a 4G-enabled Android device built in.
