Eurotunnel, in partnership with a number of French mobile operators, has said it’ll install a GSM 900, DCS1800 and UMTS 2100 mobile phone system inside the Channel Tunnel in time for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
This will allow ‘Le Shuttle’ and Eurostar customers to use 2G and 3G mobile phones when on trains inside the tunnel.

Last week, the US-based Isis mobile commerce venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, announced its first banking partners. From this summer, customers with Chase, Capital One and Barclaycard credit, debit and prepaid cards will be able to add their card details to the Isis Mobile Wallet.
The service will initially just be available in a limited number of locations before a US-wide rollout.
