Amazon has announced a series of new products. The Kindle Paperwhite is described as the world’s most advanced e-reader, offering a higher resolution display than previous readers.

An update to the company’s Kindle Fire tablet has also been revealed, along with three new Kindle Fire HD tablets.

Embarrassment for Nokia over 'fake' Lumia 920 video

Nokia has apologised for producing a video that claimed to demonstrate the benefits of optical image stabilisation on its forthcoming Lumia 920 smartphone. The new flagship handset is capable of reducing or eliminating the effect of movement - which means that photos and videos will appear less blurry than those from other devices.

However, the promotional video wasn’t shot with a Lumia 920.

New Vodafone UK tariffs offer unlimited voice and text messages

Vodafone UK has launched a new set of ‘pay monthly’ tariffs called Vodafone Red, which offer unlimited voice calls and unlimited text messaging. There are also larger mobile data allowances than previous tariffs.

Customers can benefit from unlimited UK calls and texts plus 1GB of internet usage from £29 per month with the standard Red tariff. Alternatively, Red Data from £34 per month includes 2GB of data with unlimited calls and SMS text messaging.

Snappli data compression aims to make the mobile web faster, cheaper and safer

Mobile data compression app Snappli has come out of beta and is now available on the Apple App Store.

It can reduce data transmissions by up to 85% while also making mobile browsing up to twice as fast. An Android version of the app is still under development.

The Z710 has a 7-inch scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass display and meets MIL-STD 810G / IP65 certification for shock, dust and moisture.
