Motorola acquires 'connected home' company

Motorola Mobility has agreed to acquire 4Home, a company that develops ‘connected home’ software for consumers. The deal is expected to be completed later this month.

4Home provides energy management, home security, media management and home health services through its ControlPoint software platform.

Dan Moloney, president of Motorola Mobility, said “At Motorola Mobility, we continue to invest in our converged experiences portfolio, and 4Home provides a wealth of services and software applications that offer consumers control and information for their digital lives. The addition of the 4Home portfolio helps expand our vision of converged experiences in the home and beyond.”
