Orange partners with Sony Mobile for UEFA Euro 2012 tournament

OrangeOrange has announced a partnership with Sony Mobile Communications for the UEFA Euro 2012 football tournament. The two companies plan to offer a combination of online competitions, in-store promotions, and live events in the 11 European countries served by Orange.

Some elements will be just for Orange customers, while others - including an Orange Supporters’ Cup with prizes including match tickets and smartphones - will be available to anyone.

Yves Maitre, Senior VP Mobile Multimedia & Devices at Orange, said “By working with our partner Sony Mobile Communications, we are able to offer our customers and football fans across Europe even more opportunities to win tickets, courtesy of Orange and great prizes such as the Xperia S smartphone. At Orange, we aim to support our customers’ passion, and through partnerships like this we will bring EURO 2012 to life for fans – helping them to share their EURO 2012 experience with friends and family whether they are at home or at the tournament.”

The UEFA Euro 2012 deal is is Orange’s first pan-European sponsorship, covering Spain, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Romania, Austria, Luxembourg, Moldova, Switzerland and Armenia.
