Three UK says 3.1 million of its customers are now using 4G services, just 10 months after the network launched its LTE technology. That’s over a third of Three’s 8 million customers.

Unlike some other providers, it doesn’t charge a premium for its 4G LTE service.

Currently 48% of the UK population is covered by Three’s 4G service. Rival network EE covers 75% of the UK’s population with its 4G service, which was introduced over two years ago.

Dave Dyson, Three UK

Dave Dyson, Three’s CEO, said “The rollout of new capacity is progressing well and, most importantly for me, customer satisfaction is higher than ever. With an advanced 3G network already in place all our customers are able to benefit from a reliable and high performing network. The addition of low frequency spectrum is just one part of our plans to expand Three’s coverage and bring our network to more people in more places in 2015”.
