Apple has announced financial results for the fourth quarter of its 2014 financial year, which ended on 27th September.
Quarterly revenue was up 12% year-on-year to $42.1 billion (£26 billion), while net profit was up to $8.5 billion.

New iPads add TouchID sensor for extra security
Apple has announced the latest version of its iPad tablet range: the iPad Air 2. The new device is just 6.1 mm thin, weighs 437g, has a 9.7-inch (2048 x 1536 pixel) anti-reflective display and runs iOS 8.1.
There’s also an update to the iPad mini, now called the iPad mini 3, with a 7.9-inch screen.

Apple has created an online tool that lets iPhone users and potential customers check the Activation Lock of a handset.
This reduces the risk of a customer unwittingly buying a stolen iPhone that turns out to be worthless.

I open the iPhone 6 box and discover a phone that feels substantial. Well engineered. Practical. Despite being just 6.9mm deep, it doesn't seem unreasonably delicate.
