Dual Core Smartphones only £7.70pm... whatever that means

Mark Bridge writes:

Don't sell the steak – sell the sizzle!  That's the mantra of many salespeople. It's all about emphasising the benefits of a product rather than its features. You don't tell people about the 13 megapixel camera when they ask about the new LG smartphone, you tell them it'll capture the first steps of their precious young nephew in pin-sharp accuracy. Orange launches 'mobile volunteering' project to find charitable tasks that can be helped by mobile phones

Orange UK has launched what it's calling a 'mobile volunteering project'. Its aim is to use mobile technology to transform volunteering, helping people to do work for good whenever they have some spare time.

The company has launched an online community at www.mobilevolunteering.co.uk to find new ideas and concepts. The top 10 volunteering actions that can be completed on a mobile phone will then be developed and funded by Orange.

Stuart Jackson, Brand Communications Director for Orange at Everything Everywhere said "We’re taking responsibility as a company for maximising the true potential of the mobile phone - to see how it can be used to empower consumers to do acts-of-good whilst on the move. In trying to crowd-source these ideas, we’ll develop this concept in collaboration with top industry experts to ensure that the end product has a very real impact on UK society. It is an exciting vision that builds on our heritage of innovation whilst at the same time aims to inspire millions of people to give just minutes of their time – making a massive difference to UK society."
