eBay quarterly results show the increasing value of mobile transactions

eBay has reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2011.

Revenue was up 32% year-on-year to $3.0 billion (£2.6 billion), with net income up to $490.5 million.

The future for feature phones isn't as bleak as it first appears

After all, Sony Ericsson has recently said it’ll be dropping feature phones from its product range in 2012. But perhaps the battle of feature phone vs smartphone isn’t over yet.

Global revenue for mobile location platforms will double in six years, says report

Telecom research firm Berg Insight says the global market for location-based services (LBS) platforms and middleware is expected to grow steadily in the next few years.

Annual revenue for this equipment, including A-GPS servers and middleware platforms, is projected to grow from about €150 million last year to €300 million (£263 million) in 2016.

Google and Samsung have revealed the latest flagship Android phone: the Galaxy Nexus.

It’s the first phone specifically designed for the latest release of Android 4.0, also known as ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’.
