A study in Australia says that mobile phone use seems to make children faster but less accurate… and predictive text could be to blame. Professor Michael Abramson and his colleagues were working on the Mobile Radiofrequency Phone Exposed Users' Study (MoRPhEUS), which tracked mobile phone usage by children aged 11 to 14. When given computer tests, the children who used mobiles more were faster on some tests but were also less accurate.

The worldwide market for mobile gaming will grow at an average 16.6% per year to hit $18 billion in 2014, according to the latest report by Pyramid Research. That’s over twice as much as the market was worth in 2008. It says the consumer growth in emerging markets will fuel this increase, as will increased usage in developed markets.
