Vodafone and Visa have announced a worldwide partnership that’ll enable consumers to pay for goods and services using their mobile phones.
It’ll be a Vodafone branded NFC service based on a Visa payWave prepaid account and will launch first in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey and the UK during the coming financial year.

Orange UK has revealed an NFC-based loyalty scheme called ‘Quick Tap Treats’ in partnership with the EAT restaurant chain.
Customers with a compatible NFC-equipped Orange phone will be able to to tap their handset against a special poster at any participating EAT outlet. They’ll then be directed to a mobile game, with winners receiving a voucher for a free treat. Options include free food, free drinks and ‘upgrades’ to larger portions.

Visa and Samsung have revealed the official mobile payment application for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It will make its public debut next week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The payment application uses Visa’s payWave NFC-based contactless payment technology.
